Government; debt guarantees, off-balance PPP, non-performing loans

Statistics Netherlands recorded outstanding amounts in the context of backstop arrangements with municipalities in previous publications erroneously as debt guarantees to municipalities. This has been corrected, consequently guarantees to public non-financial corporations 2010-2018 are lowered. Moreover, Statistic Netherlands erroneously classified guarantees from local governments to some institutions belonging to the government sector as debt guarantees to other institutions. As a consequence of these corrections, guarantees to other institutions are lower and guarantees to public non-financial corporations are higher. Finally, outstanding amounts of some guarantees are corrected because Statistics Netherlands erroneously registered guarantee ceilings instead of provided guarantees.

Exports of goods and services by origin; National Accounts

In the previous version, the distribution of exports between the different categories of origin proved to be incorrect for the reporting years 2018 and 2019. This was caused by an incorrect distribution of the energy tax between 'other taxes on imports' and 'other taxes on products' in the input-output tables for 2018 and 2019. The correction of this error also affected several other cells of the input-output tables. The input-output tables have now been corrected and the table with the distribution of exports between the different origin categories has been adapted to the correct input-output tables.
