Turnover in accommodation and food services up by almost 22 percent year on year

In Q3 2022, turnover in accommodation and food services was 21.7 percent up on the same quarter of 2021. The substantial growth is partly due to the fact that the sector was still affected by some coronavirus measures during the third quarter of last year and to price increases.

Hotels recorded 54.3 percent more turnover in Q3 than one year previously. Holiday accommodation rental companies and camping sites recorded a turnover increase of 7.6 percent compared to Q3 2021.

The year-on-year turnover increase at cafés was 20.6 percent in Q3. Restaurants achieved 10.9 percent more turnover year on year. Fast food restaurants recorded a year-on-year turnover increase of 13.2 percent. Finally, canteens and catering achieved 38.5 percent more turnover than one year previously. This is the largest turnover increase of all industries in the accommodation and food services sector, after hotels.
