Turnover in accommodation services increased by 0.7 percent
In Q3 2025, turnover in accommodation services, which includes hotels and holiday parks, increased by 0.7 percent year on year. Hotel turnover was up by 1.6 percent on Q2 2024, while holiday rentals and camping sites recorded a decrease of 1 percent.
Turnover in food and beverage outlets almost 5 percent higher
The turnover of food and beverage outlets increased by 4.6 percent compared with Q3 2024. Canteens and catering services recorded the largest increase in turnover in the accommodation and food services sector, at 6.4 percent. Fast-food outlets recorded an increase in turnover of 5.4 percent. Restaurants saw their turnover grow by 4.6 percent. For cafés, turnover was up by 1 percent on Q3 2024.

Entrepreneurs in the accommodation and food services sector less negative
Almost four weeks ago, Statistics Netherlands published new data on business confidence in the Dutch private sector in Q4 of 2025. Business confidence remained virtually unchanged from Q3 2025. Confidence improved by the most in the accommodation and food services sector, but remains negative overall.
Business confidence in the accommodation and food services sector rose from -13.2 at the beginning of Q3 2025 to -8.4 in Q4 2025. Businesses in this sector were less negative about the economic outlook for the next three months, in particular.
