Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports that, in March 2023, the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets was up by 4.4 percent year on year. This is mainly because of more investments in buildings and passenger cars.

Investment data have not been adjusted for calendar effects. March 2023 had the same number of working days as March 2022. According to the CBS Investment Radar, circumstances for investments in the Netherlands were less unfavourable in April than in March.

Investment climate less unfavourable in April

Every month, CBS publishes updates on the investment climate in the CBS Investment Radar. Relevant circumstances for the investment climate include, for example, the situation on the sales markets and the financial markets. Although the radar indicators show a strong correlation with the investments in fixed assets, improved circumstances do not necessarily translate into an increased growth rate or less investment decline.

According to the CBS Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands in April was less unfavourable than in March. This is mainly because in April’s radar the year-on-year growth in goods exports was higher.
