Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports that the total volume of goods exports grew by 1.9 percent in June 2016 relative to June 2015. Growth was less substantial than in May. Exports of transport equipment and electrotechnical machinery in particular continued to rise. The total volume of imports in June was 3.2 percent up from June last year.

Circumstances for Dutch exports more favourable

According to the CBS Exports Radar, circumstances for Dutch exports are more favourable in August than in June and July. Conditions are largely determined by recent developments on the major export markets for Dutch products, as well as by the competitive position of the Netherlands. In the Exports Radar of August, exchange rate developments are not as unfavourable as in June; furthermore, confidence among manufacturers in Germany and the rest of the eurozone is less negative.

Goods exports account for approximately three-quarters of total exports. CBS does not publish monthly data on exports of services. Data on total exports are published on a quarterly and annual basis. The data in this publication are provisional and can be subject to adjustments.
