The Netherlands Health Council's Dutch dietary guidelines 2015 (‘Wheel of Five’)
According to the ‘Wheel of Five’ guidelines of the Netherlands Nutrition Centre, which are based on the official dietary guidelines of the Dutch Health Council (2015), children between the ages of 1 and 4 old should eat 150 grams of fruit and 50-100 grams of vegetables per day and consume 50 grams of fish per week. According to the same guidelines, children aged 4 to 8 years should eat 150 grams of fruit and 100-150 grams of vegetables per day and 50-60 grams of fish per week. Children aged between 9 and 11 years should consume 200 grams of fruit and 150-200 grams of vegetables per day and 100 grams of fish per week. A 50-gram serving of vegetables is one serving spoon; 200 grams of fruit is equivalent to 2 pieces of fruit.
