Unemployment in May the same as in April

Seasonally adjusted unemployment in the Netherlands stood at 489 thousand in May 2012, i.e. the same as in April. The average monthly unemployment growth over the past three months was 9 thousand.

The average unemployment rate in the Dutch labour force was 6.2 percent in May. The rate among men was marginally lower, the rate among women marginally higher. With 12 percent, the highest unemployment rate was found in the age category 15-24. The unemployment rates among 25 to 44-year-olds and 45 to 64-year-olds were 5.6 and 5.3 percent respectively.
