In this report the ecosystem condition accounts will be presented for the years 2012 to 2021 as part of the SEEA-EA Natural Capital Accounts.

This report presents the first Dutch Ecosystem Condition Account, which is a part of the Natural Capital Accounts (NCA) and has been prepared according to the new guidelines from Eurostat. These guidelines are consistent with the international SEEA standards.

In the report, ecosystem condition information is systematically organized in such a way, that it aligns with the descriptions of ecosystems and ecosystem services, as distinguished in the other NCA accounts.

The ecosystem condition account includes five indicators, spread across three ecosystem levels: forest, urban area, and coast. The report compares various methods and analyzes the outcomes over a period from 2012 to 2021.

This research has been funded by Eurostat.
