Annual Report Youth Monitor 2024

The 2024 Annual Report Youth Monitor offers a comprehensive overview of the living situation of children and young people in the Netherlands.

Based on various social themes such as youth care, growing up in a family on income support, education, work, alcohol and drug use, well-being and crime, a picture is painted of how young people in the Netherlands are doing. This covers various subjects including vape use, pass rates in secondary education, the rise of young entrepreneurs and young people's participation in political activity. Where possible, regional differences are discussed. Demographic trends in the Dutch Caribbean are also covered.

This year, there is also a specific focus on young people who are neither in education nor employment, also known as NEETs. The Annual Report was compiled by Statistics Netherlands in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The content is based on figures from the National Youth Monitor.
