This article concerns actual emissions. Actual emissions from road traffic are based on the number of kilometres driven on Dutch territory and emissions analyses carried out by the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). Actual emissions differ in some respects from the calculations made in the Netherlands with respect to the Kyoto Protocol (IPCC emissions), on which the climate legislation is based (for more information, see CBS’s Greenhouse Gas Dossier).
