Since 1 January 2021, adults have access to care under the Long-term care Act (Wlz) when they have a lifelong need for intensive mental health care (24-hour care or continuous monitoring). Previously, much of this care was funded through the Social Support Act (WMO) and was the responsibility of the municipality.
