Fulfilment

Fulfilment is defined in this survey as: leading a life with a purpose and meaning that gives satisfaction, and in which social involvement and interaction with people, personal development and selflessness are important.
Fulfilment is measured by the following two statements.
1. I find life worth living
2. I feel I am contributing something to society
The question is to what extent the respondent agrees with each of these statements. The answer categories were:
1. Strongly agree
2. Agree
3. Neither agree nor disagree
4. Disagree
5. Strongly disagree

The following dimensions are distinguished in the study of fulfilment:
- Social
- Personal development
- Transcendental moments (“goosebumps”)
- Religion/spirituality.
