A suspect may be remanded in custody if there is a serious suspicion that the suspect is guilty of an offence punishable by law by a term of imprisonment of four years or more or for the offences referred to in Article 67 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. There must be serious objections against the suspect and there must be a ground for taking the suspect into custody, such as flight risk (Article 67a of the Code of Criminal Procedure).
