Police crime records

Crimes registered by the Dutch national police force and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. As of July 2018, it is no longer possible for the police to include multiple crimes which may possibly be related (the confluence model) in a single crime record. For example, in the case of armed street robbery, the illegal possession of weapons. Prior to July 2018, in cases where more than one crime was included in one crime record, only the most serious crime was counted. As a result of the amended registration, there is a visible increase in certain types of crime, relative to 2017.
