Dutch consumers equally positive in November

According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), the mood among Dutch consumers remains unchanged in November 2017. The consumer confidence indicator stands at 23, the same as in October and September. Opinions of Dutch consumers on the economic climate are slightly less positive. Willingness to buy remains stable.

With a score of + 23 in November, the consumer confidence indicator is significantly above its long-term average over the past two decades (- 3). The indicator reached an all-time high in January 2000 (+ 36) and an all-time low in March 2013 (- 41).

Mood about economic climate deteriorates slightly

Consumer confidence in the economic climate shows some deterioration in November. This component indicator of consumer confidence now stands at + 41, down from + 43 in October. Consumers are slightly less positive about the economic situation in the past and next 12 months.

Consumers’ willingness to buy remains unchanged at +10, the same as in September and October.
