The emission intensity of the Dutch economy is equal to the amount of per euro of the gross domestic product (GDP; value price level 2010). GDP is a measure for the size of the economy. For a correct calculation of the emission intensity of greenhouse gases, IPCC emissions are converted to the definitions as used in Environmental Accounts, which are consistent with the definitions as used by National Accounts to calculate GDP.
