Wealthiest households in Rozendaal
Rozendaal can claim to be the most prosperous municipality in the Netherlands. Not only does this municipality in the province Gelderland have the largest percentage of households with a high income, in relative terms most households with the largest wealth live there as well.
High incomes mainly in municipalities in or near the Randstad
One quarter of the 7 million Dutch households had a disposable income of more than 40 thousand euro in 2007. These households in the highest income bracket are not evenly spread across the country. The top ten municipalities with the highest percentages of high-income households was led by Rozendaal, where 62 percent had a high income.
The other municipalities in this top ten were all in or near the Randstad region. Bloemendaal came second (53 percent), followed by Abcoude (50 percent), Laren (49 percent) and Blaricum (49 percent).

Very wealthy households mainly in municipalities in North Brabant
One quarter of all households had a wealth of more than 222 thousand euro at the beginning of 2008. High percentages of these very wealthy households were mainly located in municipalities with fewer than 20 thousand inhabitants.
In terms of the percentage of very wealthy households, too, Rozendaal topped the list, with 68 percent. The top ten in this respect was dominated by municipalities in North Brabant, however: Alphen-Chaam, Sint Antonis, Boekel, Oirschot, Heese-Leende, Reusel de Mierden and Hilvarenbeek. The only two municipalities on this list in or near the Randstad were Laren and Bloemendaal.

High income and large wealth mostly in and near Randstad
In nine municipalities, more than four out of every ten households have a high income and just over five out of ten have a large wealth. In addition to Rozendaal, Laren and Bloemendaal, these were Abcoude, Blaricum, Naarden, Heemstede and Reeuwijk, all municipalities in or near the Randstad, and Nuenen, Gerwen and Nederwetten in North Brabant.
