Unemployment benefit

People may be eligible for more than one WW benefit depending on the situation prior to unemployment. An average of 10 thousand people receive more than one unemployment benefit every month. If this is the case, the data of each separate benefit are recorded.

The total number of benefits includes approximately 13 thousand so-called zero benefits. Benefits can be reduced to zero due to cuts or sanctions. Cuts can be imposed, if a person earns a sufficient income from a temporary job. Under the Act on fines, measures, reclamation and recovery of social security-related payments, sanctions can be imposed, if the requirements for continuation of the benefit are not met.
