Description topics
- Nutrition, 1 year or older, from 2023
- The questions about nutrition are asked to all people aged 1 year or older and cover the consumption of meat and fish, fruit, vegetables, sugary drinks, bread and snacks. The nutritional questions are thoroughly revised in 2023. Therefore the figures on fish, fruit and vegetable consumption for the years before 2023 cannot be compared to those from 2023 onwards.
- Fish/meat/vegetarian/vegan
- People have been asked about eating meat and fish in a normal week in the previous months. Detailed information about the consumption of meat and fish is obtained via the Food Consumption Survey (see table explanation).
- Meat/fish eater, not flexi/pescotarian
- Eats meat and/or fish and a maximum of 2 vegetarian main meals per week.
- Flexitarian
- Eats meat, but at least 3 vegetarian main meals per week.
- Pescotarian
- Does not eat meat but does eat fish for a maximum of 4 main meals per week.
- Vegetarian
- Does not eat meat or fish, but does eat other animal products.
- Vegan
- Lives on a completely plant-based diet.
