Status of the figures:
The figures for the three most recent months are provisional, while the figures for the preceding months are definitive.
The figures concerning income support of the three most recent months are based on an estimation and therefore provisional. After three month these figures will be replaced by definitive figures.
The monthly and quarterly figures represent the situation at the end of a period; the annual figures are averages.

- Disablement benefits
- The number of disablement benefits under the Disablement Insurance Act (WAO), the Disablement Assistence (Young Persons) Act (Wajong), the Disablement Insurance Act for Self Employed (WAZ) and the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act (WIA) not terminated at the end of the period under review (current benefits).
- Total number of disablement benefits
- The total number of disablement benefits (WAO, WAZ, Wajong, WIA), not terminated at the end of the period under review (current benefits).
- Benefits WIA
- The number of disablement benefits under the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act (WIA), not terminated at the end of the period under review (current benefits).
The WIA has replaced the Disablement Insurance Act (WAO) as from December 29, 2005.
Only persons who became disabled for 35% or more after January 1st, 2004 can apply for the WIA.
Basic principle of the act is to stimulate disabled persons to work to their capacity.
The act consits of two regulations:
- the Fully Disabled Persons Benefit Regulation (IVA);
- the Resumption of Work (Partially Disabled Persons) Regulation (WGA).- Total benefits WIA
- The total number of disablement benefits under the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act (WIA), regulations IVA and WGA.
- Unemployment benefits
- Benefits under the Unemployment Insurance Act (WW) and the Income Protection Plan for the Older Unemployed (IOW).
The WW is a compulsory insurance for employees against the financial consequences of unemployment.
The IOW entitles older unemployed or older partially disabled employees to a benefit following the expiration of a benefit under the Unemployment Insurance Act (WW) or a benefit under the Resumption of Work (Partially Disabled Persons) Regulation (WGA).
The WGA is a regulation under the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act (WIA)
The numbers include benefits for persons whose sex and place of residence is unknown and benefits for persons living abroad.- Benefits WW, not seasonally adjusted
- The number of unemployment benefits under the Unemployment Insurance Act (WW) not seasonally adjusted.
- Benefits (related to) income support
- Benefits under the Income Support Act (Abw, until 2003), the Act on Labour and Income Support (WWB, from 2004), Participation Act (from 2015), the Act on Income Provisions for Older and Partially Disabled Employees (IOAW) and the Act on Income Provisions for Older and Partially Disabled Former Self-employed (IOAZ).
The benefits under the IOAW an IOAZ are benefits related to income support benefits.- Benefits income support
- The number of benefits (at the end of the month under review) under the Income Support Act (AWB), the Act on Labour and Income Support (WWB) and Participation Act.
The Income Support Act (Abw) was replaced by the Act on Labour and Income Support (WWB) as of January 1st, 2004.
As of January 1st, 2015 the WWB has merged witrh the Participation Act.
From October 1st, 2004 until January 1st, 2012 the number of benefits under the WWB included the number of benefits under the Investment in Young People Act (WIJ).
The Investment in Young People Act (WIJ) came into force as of October 1st, 2009 and was rescinded January 1st, 2012.

- The total number of benefits under the Income Support Act (Abw), the Act on Labour and Income Support (WWB) and the Participation Act.
- Benefits income support up to AOW-age
- The number of benefits under the Income Support Act (Abw), the Act on Labour and Income Support (WWB) and the Participation Act for persons who have not yet reached the AOW-age.

The AOW (Old Age Pensions Act) is a national insurance and entitles all residents at an advanced age (the AOW-age) to a (state)pension.
Until January 1st, 2013 the AOW-age was 65 years, but has been steadily increasing ever since.
- Benefits Anw
- The number of benefits under the General Surviving Relatives Act (Anw) not terminated at the end of the period under review (current benefits).
The ANW is a national insurance and regulates the entitlement to a benefit for surviving spouses or registerd partners and children who lost one or both parents.
Entitlement to an ANW-benefit only exists if the deceased person was insured for the ANW on the date of death.
Because of a law amendment as of July 1st, 2013 the entitlement to a benefit for children who lost one parent has been rescinded. Since then the surviving parent or partner with a child under the age of 18 is entitled to a higher benefit.
For children who lost one parent and already receive a benefit, the change was effectuated as of October 1st, 2013.
- Persons entitled to AKW
- The number of persons entitled to AKW under the General Family Allowances Act (AKW) not terminated at the end of the period under review (current benefits).
The AKW is a national insurance and provides financial support for insured persons who nurture children younger than 18 years.
Only quarterly figures are published. The annual average is calculated on the quarterly figures.
