Modelling mobility trends – update including 2024 ODiN data

Using multilevel time-series models for estimation of mobility trends.

The Dutch Travel Survey is an annual sample survey used to compile statistics about mobility of residents of the Netherlands. This survey has undergone several redesigns. In earlier reports, a multilevel time-series model has been developed to estimate mobility trends at a detailed level by person and journey characteristics, accounting for discontinuities due to the redesigns. For this report, data over 2024 have been included, and the model has been extended to incorporate effects that account for changes in measurement levels due to the use of a modified invitation letter.
