Dissertation on an evaluation of various forms of answering behaviour in surveys.
Survey methodology literature has hypothesized and evaluated the prevalence of various forms of answering behaviour, sometimes termed response styles, in surveys. Some of these behaviours are associated with an increased risk of measurement error and mode-specific biases. This dissertation investigates answering behaviour in a diverse and unique set of surveys conducted in a panel setting.
