Better conditions manufacturing industry

Conditions for manufacturing industry have improved in December 2013 relative to the preceding month. Data which have recently become available show that 4 of the 6 indicators have improved this month: the confidence indicators (consumer confidence and producer confidence) and the foreign indicators show a more favourable picture. The indicators German industrial orders and European manufacturing output have improved. Household consumption was down from last month and exports also declined. The indicator German industrial orders is above the level of its long-term average, the indicator European manufacturing output is marginally above its long-term average and the indicator producer confidence is marginally below its long-term average. The other indicators are far below their long-term averages.

Due to efficiency measures, this publication will be discontinued on 10 December 2013.
