In this edition, the amounts are expressed in constant prices, using 2023 as the base year. In the trend calculations for indicators related to income and wealth, the adjustment for price changes in 2021, 2022 and 2023 is based on the price trend assuming actual energy prices. On average, this is more in line with the price trends experienced by the population during these years than the consumer price index (CPI). Until June 2023, the CPI only measured energy prices based on new energy contracts. Most of the figures in this dashboard pertain to the period up to and including 2023, as income and wealth statistics are largely based on tax return data, which are not yet available for 2024.
