Dashboard on consumer prices

This dashboard displays the inflation rate based on the consumer price index (CPI) and the European harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP). It also highlights weight shares and contributions, and provides detailed insights into price developments for consumer goods and services.

What is the current inflation rate?

The following graph shows price changes according to the CPI and the derived CPI.

What is the inflation rate in other European countries?

Below are price changes according to the HICP of the European Union, the euro area and a number of European countries.

How are goods and services weighted in the CPI?

The graph below shows the weighting used when calculating the CPI. The weighting is meant to reflect the relative importance of the goods and services as measured by their share in the total average consumption of households in the Netherlands.

Which goods and services contribute the most to inflation?

The contribution is the share of the price change for a product group in the total annual rate change in the CPI. The contributions of all the individual groups add up to the annual rate of change in the CPI.

What is the price change for each product group?

The CPI measures price changes over time across various product groups. A selection of these is shown below. The price change in all product groups in the CPI is shown in this table.

What are the levels of fuel prices?

The graph below shows the average price for motor fuels.
