How to complete the questionnaire automatically using RGS

© CBS
Part of the CBS questionnaire can be filled in automatically by linking it to your accounting software. You can do this by activating the ‘RGS’ function (a nationally agreed uniform coding system for financial data) manually in your accounting software. The data will then be entered directly into the correct fields in the questionnaire, which saves you a lot of time. Below is an explanation of how to activate this function.

User guidelines for each accounting programme

The accounting software listed below are compatible with automatic completion using RGS. The method for activating the function varies, depending on the accounting software used. Open the relevant user guideline below and follow the steps to enable automatic completion using RGS.

Add missing information

Once you have completed the steps and RGS has been activated in your accounting software, you can return to the questionnaire to select ‘auto-fill’. A large part of the questionnaire will then be filled in automatically, and you will only need to enter the missing information.

RGS Bridge Statement

Another option is to create an RGS Bridge Statement from your accounts. You can then import the RGS Bridge Statement into the questionnaire. Part of the questionnaire will then be filled in automatically. Ask your accountant to provide this or find out how to create an RGS Bridge Statement at: RGS Bridge Statement.

Which RGS version and wich level are supported?

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) supports RGS version 3.0 and higher. Furthermore, the level of detail at which the data in your accounts is linked to RGS is important. You will achieve the best results with a link at RGS level 4 or higher. For this reason, CBS only supports RGS codes at level 4 or higher.
