Trend changes in tremor rates in Groningen june 2017

A report updating continuing research into the frequency of earthquakes in Groningen, related to the gas production, commissioned by State Supervision of Mines. For this update all earthquakes in the KNMI catalogue up to May 2017 are included in the analysis.

This is research carried out commissioned by State Supervision of Mines, into the effects of gas production on earthquakes in Groningen which has resulted in a report. This report describes recent trends in earthquake frequencies and changes in those trends, as well as relating these trends to gas production, together with the relevant statistical evidence and support.
In addition to the regular update, there is a Supplement to this report which provides further background concerning the methodological choices that are made for the regular updates.
