Customer Satisfaction Survey 2025

Customer Satisfaction Continues to Improve

We have received the results of the KTO 2025 and would like to share an overview of the findings and our focus areas. The average rating this year was a 7.63, indicating that we are on the right track, but there is still room for improvement.

What is going well?

Many respondents appreciate the quick responses to inquiries and the communication surrounding output controls. The large amount of available data is highly valued, as well as the accessibility and helpfulness of our staff.

Output control

The assessment of output remains somewhat strict and inconsistent according to some researchers, which is related to the large number of different controllers. We are continually working on this to improve quality and consistency.

Improved IT environment

The new Windows environment is positively assessed, with a score of 4.0 (out of 5), an increase of 0.4 compared to last year. Friendliness, helpfulness, and quick responses are also highly appreciated. However, many researchers judge that the login procedure still takes too long and that applications within the environment can be slow. Although our influence here is limited, we continue to seek solutions.

Documentation and transparency

The lack of sufficient English-language documentation and its complexity are acknowledged. Active efforts are underway to address this.

File formats

There is a clear desire for modern, efficient file formats. We understand that preferences vary, and we will continue exploring ways to facilitate this.

We thank everyone for your openness and constructive feedback. Your input helps us further improve our services and better align with your wishes and needs.
Together, we will continue working towards a more efficient and user-friendly research environment!

New Service: Data Storage

The Data Storage has been introduced within the CBS microdata environment. This service is designed to enable researchers to share large analytical datasets with other researchers. Like catalog files, these are offered as read-only files. An advantage for providers of files is that they no longer incur storage costs in their own project environments. The pilot phase of this service runs until May 2025, and during this period, the storage costs will be covered by ODISSEI. Depending on interest levels, this service may become permanent.

Conditions for placing Files:

  • The file you wish to make available must have been created using only CBS microdata.
  • If you create a file, you are responsible for answering questions related to it.
  • A template for metadata can be found in the CBS microdata environment.
  • Export the script used to generate the files and the metadata describing them and submit both through ODISSEI to the ODISSEI Metadata Portal and Code Repository.

If you wish to place a file, fill out the 'Data Storage Request' form within the CBS microdata environment. This form is in the Utilities folder. Place the completed form on your H-drive in a folder named 'For Data Storage Facility', then email your advisor at Microdata Services that the form has been submitted.

Conditions for Using Files:

  • The requester must justify their request and explain how the file contributes to the research objectives.
  • The requesting party must apply and pay for the CBS microdata topics underlying the file in requested for.

Look in the metadata folder under Utilities within the CBS-microdata environment for more information, as well as in Extern Maatwerk in the OtherData folder for already available files.
