Manufacturing output prices over 5 percent higher in July
Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports that output prices for products manufactured in the Netherlands were 5.2 percent higher in July 2026, year on year. In June the price increase was 4.3 percent. Oil prices in July were almost 24 percent higher than a year earlier.

Larger year-on-year increase in price of crude oil
Output prices generally track the price of crude oil. In July 2026, the average price of a barrel of North Sea Brent crude stood at over 73 euros, up by almost 24 percent, year on year. In June 2026, a barrel of crude oil also cost over 73 euros, representing a rise of more than 20 percent year on year. The rise in output prices is related to the rise in oil prices due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
Prices for petroleum derivatives were up by 42.7 percent in July year on year, compared to 26.0 percent in June. Output prices in the chemical sector also tend to track the price of crude oil (although there is often a lag). In July 2026, output prices for chemical products were 12.3 percent higher than they were in June 2025. In June, they were up by 16.6 percent, year on year.

Manufacturing output prices higher in July than in June
Output prices rose by 0.8 percent in July compared to June. On the export markets they were up by 1.3 percent, on the domestic market by 0.2 percent.
