If a car is sold more than once in a year, it is counted only once in this news release. The registration date of insurance liability is used to determine whether a vehicle was sold in the given reporting year. This applies to unique new and second-hand passenger cars. A second-hand car is only counted if the owner of the car on 1 January of the year in question is someone other than the owner on 1 January of the previous year. Each car is counted no more than once a year.
