The index consists of ten of the seventeen grassland butterflies selected by the EU (the other seven are not native to the Netherlands): wall brown, dingy skipper, meadow brown, dusky large blue, large skipper, small heath, common blue, small copper, orange tip and common blue. This indicator is defined in the EU’s Nature Restoration Regulation.
