Depression

The percentage of young people with the answer category ‘yes’ to the question: Are you suffering or have you suffered from depression in the past 12 months? Self-reporting based on a question about depression provides a very rough indicator about depression. Trimbos Institute's Nemesis-3 study found that in the period 2019/2022, 11.5 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds met the DSM-5 criteria of depressive disorder. The figures from the Nemesis-3 study can be found on the State of Public Health and Health Care: Depressive disorder: prevalence | The State of Public Health and Care (only in Dutch).
