Disorders over the past 12 months

Respondents could indicate whether they had suffered the indicated illness or disorder over the past 12 months. These included: stroke/cerebral haemorrhage/cerebral infarction, myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart disease, migraine or severe headaches, asthma, COPD/chronic bronchitis/pulmonary emphysema, psoriasis, chronic eczema, intestinal disorders, chronic inflammation of the joints, back disorders, neck/shoulder disorders, elbow/wrist/hand disorders, allergy, high blood pressure, narrowing of blood vessels in stomach/legs, dizziness involving falls, incontinence, joint wear, liver cirrhosis, renal disease, depression, other disorders. The five most commonly reported disorders have been listed in the news release.

Migraine or severe headache
Percentage share of persons answering ‘yes’ to the question: ‘Have you suffered from migraine or severe headache in the past twelve months?’

Back disorder
Percentage share of persons answering ‘yes’ to the question: ‘Have you suffered from a severe or persistent back disorder, e.g. hernia, in the past twelve months?’

Allergy
Percentage share of persons answering ‘yes’ to the question: ‘Have you suffered from any form of allergy in the past twelve months?’

Dizziness with falls
Percentage share of persons answering ‘yes’ to the question: ‘Have you suffered from any dizziness with falls in the past twelve months?’

Depression
Percentage share of persons answering ‘yes’ to the question: ‘Have you suffered from depression in the past twelve months?’
