Business confidence

The business confidence index indicates the mood in the Dutch private non-financial sector. It is compiled for each sector based on survey responses on recent developments and prospects among entrepreneurs, e.g. for turnover.
Subsequently, business confidence is compiled from a weighted average in confidence per sector. Business confidence provides an indication of the direction in which the Dutch economy is expected to develop.
The Netherlands Business Survey (COEN) is conducted among enterprises in the private non-financial sector. Excluded are: banks, insurance companies and pension funds. The survey is conducted among companies with 5 persons employed or more.
