A person with a chronic disorder has at least one chronic illness, disorder or disability. In the NEA, respondents are asked to indicate whether they suffer from one or more of fourteen illnesses or disorders of the arms, legs, back of the neck or shoulders. Respondents are also asked to indicate whether they suffer from migraine, cardiovascular diseases, asthma or bronchitis, stomach or intestinal disorders, diabetes, mental complaints or cancer.
