Countries joining the EU

On 1 May 2004, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic joined the EU; on 1 January 2007, Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU and on 1 July 2013, Croatia joined the EU.
