In order to promote the use of biofuels with an advanced level of environmental technology, suppliers of petrol and diesel for transport are allowed to use double-counting biofuels to fulfil the extra requirement. These advanced biofuels are also counted double in the transport target as set for the Netherlands in the EU Directive Renewable Energy, but are not counted double in the overall target set in the EU Directive and these advanced biofuels are not counted double in this article either.
