Maximum entitlement period WW benefit

The entitlement period of unemployment benefits partly depends on a person’s employment record. The longer they has worked, the longer the period they are entitled to an unemployment benefit, but the maximum period of entitlement, as laid down in the Unemployment Insurance Act was reduced on 1 October 2006 from 60 to 38 months. The reduction of the maximum entitlement period was very unfavourable for older employees in particular.
