‘Other water’

‘Other water’ refers to water of a different quality compared to tap water, e.g. unfiltered and partially filtered water or distilled and demineralised water. This water, a semi-finished product also called industrial water, is produced by water companies and frequently used to manufacture chemical products. Between 6 and 7 percent of total tap water consumption consists of ‘other water’ . The supply of ‘other water’ by water companies is not included in the total supply of tap water.
