Own parents

A child’s own parents are the parents as recognised by law.

The legal mother is defined as the woman
• who is the biological mother;
• or who has legally adopted the child.

The legal father is defined as the man

• who was married to the mother at the child’s birth;
• or who has officially recognised the (unborn) child;
• or whose parenthood was officially established in court;
• or who has legally adopted the child.
