Arab countries

The Arab countries referred to in this article are the countries where reform movements are active against the background of the so-called ‘Arab Spring’. The article focuses on the following countries:

Algeria
Bahrain
Egypt
Jordan
Libya
Morocco
Oman
Syria
Tunisia
Yemen

In this article the term ‘Arab region’ refers to one of the countries in the above list. The main countries of origin of asylum seekers are Tunisia, Syria, Libya and Egypt. The category ‘other countries’ mentioned in the graphs are Algeria, Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Oman and Yemen.
