In 2010 the structural survey on trade union members celebrates its 110th year. The first survey dates from 1901 and involved the membership of the Christelijk Arbeiderssecretariaat, the predecessor of the CNV. In 1910 the picture of the trade unions is complete and data are available on the trade union membership in the Netherlands. Detailed information on membership by sex and age only became available in 1973.
