Temp agency workers

This article is based on data from the Labour Force Survey. The data refer to workers hired out via temp agencies for a temporary job of at least twelve hours per week, and who are thus included in the employed labour force aged 15 to 64 years.

The year figures refer to the average number of people who worked as a temp agency worker in the calendar year concerned. As temporary contracts often cover only a short period, the number of agency workers in this article does not equal the total number of people who ever worked via a temp agency in the year - or even quarter - concerned. The figures are an indication of the average number of active temp agency workers in the course of the year.
