Cement kilns

Sludge chiefly consists of organic matter and can be co-incinerated in cement kilns. This process contributes to a reduction in the consumption of fossil fuels. In addition, all solid components of sludge are absorbed in the cement or in semi-manufactured clinker material.
Before sludge can be incinerated, it must be heated and dried in special sludge drying beds or converted into compost.
