The Netherlands exports electricity to Norway at night and imports electricity from Norway during the day. On balance, more electricity is imported than exported. Electricity exported at night and imported during the day is cheaper. In Norway electricity is mainly generated in hydro-electric power stations. The price of electricity generated in such a manner is relatively low.
