Domestic/foreign companies are classified according to the country from where final control is exerted. Control is the ability to define the general policy of a company. The Ultimate Controlling Institutional Unit (UCI) is the company higher up in the control chain, which has authority over the Dutch company. Foreign control implies that the UCI is located outside the Netherlands.
