The 250 largest non-financial companies, whose main activity is the production of goods and services. Data are based upon a panel of companies. The panel includes the 200 largest companies on the basis of the balance sheet total plus companies, which were underrepresented with respect to their main activity. The companies included in the panel must be monitored over the entire period. Companies, which are created or cease to exist as a result of mergers and takeovers, will be included in a new version of the panel. Split-off companies also remain included in the panel. After the split-off, the separate parts of the company are monitored. The panel approximately comprises 240 companies covering about 60 percent of the balance sheet total of the entire sector non-financial companies with legal personality.
