Costs of the Dutch Afghanistan mission only refer to costs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence have agreed to include in crisis management costs. Other additional expenditure is included in the regular defence budget and has not been taken into account in this publication. It concerns, for example, costs of replacement of equipment lost during military operations (helicopters), extra investments, as equipment is wearing out at an accelerated pace and acquisition of new equipment.
