Managers

Employees were asked how many people they managed directly or indirectly. Self-employed were asked how many people they employed and whether they managed or supervised most of the time. 

Three types of managers can be distinguished:
- those managing 20 persons or more,
- those managing a group of 10–19 persons, 
- those managing 5–9 persons.

The data are based upon the Labour Force Survey (EBB), a sample survey conducted in the Netherlands on a monthly basis among people aged 15 years or older. The sample test comprises approximately 1 percent of the Dutch population. Self-employed employing fewer than five workers are also incorporated in the analysis, because the EBB cannot distinguish between those employing 1-4 workers and those employing 5-9 workers.
