Domestic violence occurs at home and includes the use of physical violence towards the partner, physical and sexual child abuse and mistreatment and neglect of elderly people. Physical violence includes beating, kicking and shaking. Rape and incest are instances of (sexual) domestic violence. Humiliation, verbal violence and forced confinement are categorised as mental domestic violence.
